Bull Kelp and Balayage had its debut in my hometown. I got to go back to Richmond, Va. to my high school campus where I also taught with my paintings in tow.

I loved getting to give two artist talks to Painting I and Advance Art classes. We chatted through my journey and unpacked my creative practice. The making of this series hinges on a single mantra: “be like water”. Fluidity has been my anchor and my north star. We also unpacked color theory and how I take everyday moments to the canvas.

Being there made me fall in love with teaching all over.

Also here is a lovely article from the school’s alumni magazine about me.
Thank you Sarah for taking the time to chat and write these words.
