Growing up I was told “you’re never allowed to say you’re bored”. I kept a pencil in one hand and dirt in the other.

I’ve always balanced a life outdoors with one in the studio. I find solace in nature and she makes her way into my art studio. I’ve been lucky to live in the foothills of Virginia and Tennessee, the forest of the Pacific Northwest and now the arid terrain of Utah.

I translate each place into a deconstructed topographic map made up of lines, marks, colors and form. Each one shows how I translate the world around me.
